EC begins preparing panel of polling officials for election

The Election Commission (EC) has begun preparations to form a panel of polling officials ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election. Field-level officers have been instructed to submit relevant information by October 30.

A directive signed by Deputy Secretary Mohammad Monir Hossain has already been circulated to all district election officers across the country.

According to the letter, panels must be formed for the appointment of presiding officers, assistant presiding officers, and polling officers. To facilitate this, officials have been asked to collect lists of eligible personnel — categorized by grade or class — from government, semi-government, autonomous, private institutions, and educational establishments.

The Election Commission is currently preparing to hold the national polls in the first half of February.
