EC directs assessment of ballot boxes by Aug 25

The Election Commission (EC) has directed all field-level officials to assess the transparent ballot boxes and lids for each polling station, and submit updated reports by August 25.

In a directive, signed by EC Secretary Akhtar Ahmed, to regional election officers, the Commission also ordered field offices to clear their godowns to ensure sufficient storage space for new election materials.

Officials also have been asked to seek necessary allocations for transferring existing goods.

EC officials confirmed that procurement activities for the next parliamentary elections have already begun, with the Commission aiming to complete all purchases by September.

Meanwhile, the EC Secretary also directed officials to send written content — including stories, dialogues, plays, essays, and poems — to the National Identity Registration Wing for use in voter list and national ID card-related campaigns.
