EC-Commonwealth pre-election delegation meeting underway

The Election Commission (EC) is holding a meeting with the Commonwealth pre-election assessment mission right now. The meeting began in Nirbachan Bhaban around 10 am on Sunday.

The pre-election assessment team from the Commonwealth arrived in Dhaka on Saturday and will stay in Dhaka till November 23. During the visit, the members of the delegation will meet with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Home Affairs as well.

The Election Commission usually meets with various foreign observers before the elections. Earlier, the pre-election delegation of the European Union, and the pre-election delegation of the United States held meeting with the Election Commission. South Asia's election observation teams also held a meeting with EC.

The Election Commission has called for application by 21 November through the embassies for foreign observers to observe the polls.
