Editors' Council President and New Age Editor Nurul Kabir harassed

A group of people harassed Editors' Council President and Editor of English daily New Age Nurul Kabir.

According to police, he came under attack when he went to help journalists trapped at the Prothom Alo office late on Thursday night.

A video circulating on social media shows some people rushing towards Nurul Kabir. At that time, members of the law enforcement agencies removed him to safety.

Earlier, on Thursday night, the offices of Daily Prothom Alo and Daily Star were attacked, vandalized and set on fire in Kawran Bazar in the capital. The attack was carried out around 12:15am.

According to eyewitnesses and police sources, an angry procession from Shahbagh moved towards Kawran Bazar. The police members present there tried to calm the situation, but at one stage the situation went out of control.
