Educational institutions to hold online classes three days per week
The Ministry of Education has decided to hold classes online for three days and in-person for the remaining three days at all educational institutions across the country to tackle the fuel crisis caused by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
The decision was made at a coordination meeting held at the Secretariat on Tuesday, March 31. The meeting was attended by teachers from various educational institutions in Dhaka metropolitan area, officials from education boards, and senior officials from the Ministry of Education.
However, the decision will be finalised at the cabinet meeting scheduled for Thursday, April 2. The proposal will be presented at the meeting.
A responsible official from the Ministry of Education told the media that an official directive will be issued soon. Initially, classes will run six days a week. Among these, three days will be online and three days will be in-person classroom instruction.
He further said plans are being made to conduct online and offline classes on alternate days. Teachers will be present at educational institutions to take classes, while students will join online on designated days.
Earlier, speaking to journalists in the morning, Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon said alternative methods of instruction are being planned due to the fuel crisis. As part of this, the new system combining online and offline instruction is set to be introduced.
Officials believe this will help save fuel while maintaining continuity in students' education.
