BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that some forces are trying to undermine the spirit of the Liberation War and erase the sacrifices of 1971. He made the remarks while meeting freedom fighters and their families in Thakurgaon on Monday (November 10). Fakhrul emphasized that just as the people cannot forget the events of February 24, the sacrifices of 1971 cannot be forgotten. He alleged that a group is aligning with Pakistani forces from the 1971 war and warned that the nation will not compromise with those who targeted freedom fighters and their families. Fakhrul also accused certain elements of using religion to create divisions and manipulate elections.&nbsp;

বিএনপি মহাসচিব মির্জা ফখরুল ইসলাম আলমগীর বলেছেন, ‘একটি পক্ষ মুক্তিযুদ্ধের চেতনা বানচালের চেষ্টা করছে। একাত্তরের ত্যাগের কথা ভুলিয়ে দেয়ার চেষ্টা চলছে।’ সোমবার (১০ অভেম্বর) সকালে ঠাকুরগাঁওয়ে মুক্তিযোদ্ধা ও তাদের সন্তানদের সঙ্গে মতবিনিময় সভায় যোগ দিয়ে মির্জা ফখরুল একথা বলেন। মির্জা ফখরুল বলেন, ‘একাত্তরে লাখ লাখ মানুষের ত্যাগের মধ্য দিয়ে দেশ স্বাধীন হয়েছে। দেশের মানুষ যেমন ২৪ কে ভুলতে পারবে না, তেমনি ৭১ কেও ভোলা যাবে না।’ বিএনপির এই নেতা বলেন, ‘সুপরিকল্পিতভাবে একটি চক্র পাকিস্তানি হানাদার বাহিনীর সঙ্গে একাত্মতা করছে।’ যারা মুক্তিযোদ্ধা ও তাদের পরিবারকে হত্যা করা করেছিল তাদের সঙ্গে এদেশের মানুষ আপস করতে পারে না বলে মন্তব্য করেন তিনি। ধর্মকে ব্যবহার করে একটি চক্র ভেদাভেদ সৃষ্টি করে নির্বাচন বানচালের চেষ্টা করছে বলেও অভিযোগ করেছেন&nbsp;বিএনপি&nbsp;মহাসচিব।
