Foreign affairs adviser of the interim government Md Touhid Hossain has said relations with Pakistan have largely normalised over the past year.

He made the remarks while speaking to journalists at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, January 14.

Responding to a question about his recent meeting with Pakistan’s deputy prime minister and foreign minister Ishaq Dar in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Touhid Hossain said, “We are trying to improve relations with Pakistan. By improvement, I mean efforts are underway to establish normal relations. They have become largely normal over the past year. Some more steps can be taken, and when there is progress, you will be informed.”

Touhid Hossain and Ishaq Dar spoke twice over the phone last week and met in person in Jeddah on Sunday this week.
