Egg and chicken prices increase in Rangpur, pulse prices decrease

Chicken and egg prices have increased in Rangpur over the past week. During this time, the prices of various types of pulses have decreased. On the other hand, the prices of most vegetables, fish, meat and rice, along with other daily necessities, remained unchanged.

On Tuesday (January 20), it was seen in various markets in Rangpur city that the price of boiler chicken in the retail market had increased by Tk170-180 per kg.

Pakistani golden chicken is being sold at Tk280-300, Pakistani hybrid chicken at Tk270-280 per kg and local chicken at Tk500-520 per kg.

Chicken seller Alamgir Hossain at Dhap Bazar said that due to the decrease in chicken imports, the price of all types of chicken has increased by Tk10-20 per kg.

Beef is being sold at Tk720-750 unchanged and mutton at Tk1100 per kg. The price of poultry chicken eggs has increased by Tk36-38 per kg.

In the vegetable market, the retail price of tomatoes is Tk50-60, carrots Tk40-50, radishes Tk35-40, cauliflower Tk35-40, cabbage Tk25-30, pumpkin Tk40-50, small eggplant Tk40-50, round eggplant Tk50-60, sweet potato Tk100-120, beetroot Tk50-60, beans Tk30-40, papaya Tk25-30, cucumber Tk60-70 per kg and bitter gourd Tk70-80 per kg.

Local ginger is being sold at Tk140-150, local garlic Tk100-120, imported garlic Tk220-240 and dried chilies Tk350-400 per kg.

In the potato market, cardinal (old) is being sold at Tk15-20, new cardinal at Tk26-30, white new potato at Tk20-25, Bogura red pakori at Tk35-40, shil potato at Tk60-65, carriage potato at Tk25-30 and zhau potato at Tk60-65 per kg.

In the oil and pulse market, one liter of bottled soybean oil is being sold at Tk195-200, open soybean oil at Tk180-200. Lentils (chikon) are being sold at Tk150-160, medium at Tk90-100, moong dal at Tk150-160, boot dal at Tk110-120, open sugar at Tk105-110 and chickpeas at Tk90-100 per kg.

In the rice market, gold (coarse) is being sold at Tk48-50, gold (chikon) at Tk55-60, BR28 at Tk65-70, BR29 at Tk60-65, jeerashail at Tk70-75, miniket at Tk85-90 and najirshail at Tk85-90 per kg.

In the fish market, rui is being sold at Tk300-380, tengra at Tk400-560, mrigel at Tk220-250, carp at Tk250-260, pangash at Tk150-200, tilapia at Tk200-250, catfish at Tk300-500, bata at Tk180-240, shing at Tk300-400, silver carp at Tk180-260 and gachhimach at Tk800-1200 per kg.
