The chief coordinator of the National Citizen Party (NCP) and Dhaka-8 parliamentary candidate, Nasiruddin Patwary, has again been targeted in an egg-throwing incident.

The attack occurred around 12:15pm on Tuesday, January 27, during a campaign street rally in the capital's Ramna area. The unexpected disruption happened as part of public outreach ahead of the thirteenth parliamentary election.

Eyewitnesses reported that unidentified miscreants threw eggs, missing their target and causing a temporary halt to the campaign event. This is not the first such attack on Patwary; a similar incident occurred last Friday, January 23, when muddy water and eggs were thrown at his campaign rally in the capital's Siddheshwari area. No one from Patwary's team was seriously injured in Tuesday's attack.

Despite the repeated harassment, Nasiruddin Patwary has reaffirmed his resolve to continue his election campaign. While his team cut the previous event short, some tension prevailed in the area following today's incident.

The repeated attacks have raised questions in political circles. The candidate's supporters allege that rival factions, alarmed by his growing popularity, have resorted to these tactics. Local voters in Ramna and Siddheshwari have expressed concern about the electoral environment following these incidents.

As of now, no arrests have been reported in connection with the egg-throwing, and law enforcement agencies have yet to issue a formal statement on the matter.
