The play Nityapurāna was halted during its performance on November 2. In response, theater workers organized a rally on Friday (November 8). During the rally, a group of unidentified individuals threw eggs. Joint forces arrived at the scene after the attack. The incident occurred in front of the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the capital. According to eyewitnesses, the eggs were thrown while playwright and actor Mamunur Rashid was giving a speech towards the end of the rally. The rally, organized by the Bangladesh Group Theater Federation, saw the participation of over a hundred theater workers in front of the Academy's entrance. In response to Friday's incident, the Bangladesh Group Theater Federation has announced a nationwide protest on November 15.

‘নিত্যপূরাণ’ নাটকের প্রদর্শনী চলাকালীন বন্ধ করার প্রতিবাদে নাট্যকর্মীদের সমাবেশে একদল অজ্ঞাত ব্যক্তি ডিম ছুড়ে মারে। সমাবেশে হামলার পর ঘটনাস্থলে আসেন যৌথ বাহিনীর সদস্যরা। শুক্রবার (৮ নভেম্বর) রাজধানীর শিল্পকলা একাডেমির সামনে এ ঘটনা ঘটে। প্রত্যক্ষদর্শীরা জানান, সমাবেশের শেষের দিকে নাট্যকার ও অভিনেতা মামুনুর রশীদের বক্তব্য চলছিল। এসময় সমাবেশে ডিম ছোড়া হয়। সমাবেশের আয়োজন করেছিল বাংলাদেশ গ্রুপ থিয়েটার ফেডারেশন। শিল্পকলা একাডেমির প্রবেশদ্বারের মুখে সমাবেশে শ খানেকের বেশি নাট্যকর্মী অংশ নেন। এ ঘটনার প্রতিবাদে ১৫ নভেম্বর সারা দেশে প্রতিবাদ সভা ঘোষণা করেছে বাংলাদেশ গ্রুপ থিয়েটার ফেডারেশন।
