Eid celebrations feel joyful amid democratic environment: Finance Minister

Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury described this year’s Eid celebrations as uniquely joyful for the nation due to the country’s strengthened democratic environment.

Speaking to reporters after Eid prayers at Darus Salam Jame Mosque on Saturday morning (March 21), he extended greetings to all, saying, “Today’s joy is special for all of us because a democratic environment has been established in the country.”

He added that citizens now enjoy ownership of their rights and the freedom to speak and move independently. “Eid’s true happiness comes only to free people. This year’s celebration feels a little different. I hope the spirit of love and brotherhood continues,” he said.

The Finance Minister attended the prayers with his son, BNP leader Israfil Khasru, and other family members.
