The main congregation of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr in the capital Dhaka will be held at 8 am tomorrow, Saturday, at the National Eidgah Maidan adjacent to the High Court premises. If the congregation is not possible here due to weather or any other reason, then the prayers will be held at the National Mosque Baitul Mukarram at 9 am. The President and the Prime Minister will offer prayers together in this congregation.

This time, 90,000 to 100,000 worshippers will be able to offer prayers together at the National Eidgah Maidan where 330 places have been reserved for special guests and VIPs. Of which 250 are men and 80 are women. Separate places and curtains have been ensured for general worshippers—31,000 for men and 3,500 for women.

Five congregations will be held at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque this year—at 7 am, 8 am, 9 am, 10 am and 11.15 am. Congregations will be held at other mosques and Eidgahs in the areas of the two city corporations. Dhaka North City Corporation has organized a congregation at 8 am at the old trade fair ground in Agargaon, where more than 25,000 worshippers can offer prayers at once. This year, a total of 1,771 Eid congregations will be held in the capital, of which 121 will be held at Eidgahs and 1,599 at mosques. Dhaka Metropolitan Police will ensure security and traffic arrangements.

Outside Dhaka, the main congregation in Chattogram will be held at the Jamiatul Falah National Mosque premises, where two congregations will be held at 8 am and 8.45 am. A congregation will also be held at the gymnasium ground of the district stadium at 8.30 am on the initiative of the district administration. Eid prayers will be held at 9 am at the Gor-e-Shaheed Boro ground in Dinajpur. This time, the 199th congregation will be held at the traditional Sholakia Eidgah Maidan in Kishoreganj. Five-tier measures have been taken for security. Blank bullets will be fired three times in a row before the congregation begins. For the convenience of devotees, two special trains named Sholakia Express will run on the Kishoreganj-Mymensingh and Bhairab-Kishoreganj lines.
