Eid greetings event at Bangladesh embassy in Kuwait cancelled over security concerns

The annual Eid greetings exchange programme organised at the official residence of the Bangladeshi ambassador in Kuwait, 'Bangladesh House', has been cancelled this year.

The Bangladesh Embassy has stated that this decision has been taken due to security restrictions imposed by the Kuwaiti government amid the ongoing war situation.

The information was provided in a notification signed by Mohammad Moniruzzaman, Counsellor and Head of Chancery at the Bangladesh Embassy in Kuwait, on Wednesday, March 18.

The notification stated that every year on Eid-ul-Fitr day, the ambassador exchanges greetings with expatriate Bangladeshis. However, given the current situation, the Kuwaiti government has imposed a ban on all types of public gatherings during the Eid holiday in the interest of security.

This includes various events such as theatrical performances, concerts and wedding ceremonies.

It has been informed that under these circumstances, it will not be possible to organise this year's Eid greetings exchange programme at 'Bangladesh House'. The embassy has expressed regret over this.
