Eid prayers in Rajshshi's Puthia in line with Saudi Arabia

The holy Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated in Puthia upazila of Rajshahi in line with Saudi Arabia.

The main Eid congregation was held at Krishnapur Muslim Jama Masjid in Krishnapur municipal area of ​​the upazila at 8 am on Friday (March 20).

Imam Shajirul Islam Sagar of Charghat upazila came to lead the prayers.

A total of 21 devotees participated in this congregation, out of which 20 were male and 1 female devotee.

After the prayer, the devotees said that the moon does not rise for any specific country, but for the whole world. They are following this rule out of the belief that even though the moon cannot be seen from all places due to geographical distance, the Hijri month should be counted on the same day all over the world.

A devotee who participated in the congregation said, 'Earlier, I used to celebrate Eid according to the traditional rules of the country. However, my experience of joining this congregation this time was quite good. I came to this decision after learning about religious rules and the moonrise.'

Mosque Imam Abdur Rahim Gazi said that they organized this congregation following the instructions to observe fasting and celebrate Eid after seeing the new moon.

Hafez Sajirul Islam Sagar led the Eid congregation. He said that they performed Eid prayers after completing 30 fasts after the moon was sighted in Saudi Arabia. At the same time, he called on everyone to celebrate Eid together.
