Eid-ul-Adha: Advance train ticket sale begins

Bangladesh Railway (BR) started selling advance train tickets for the Eid-ul-Adha holidays on Wednesday (May 21).

Tickets for seven days will be sold this time. All tickets will be sold online only.

Tickets for trains operating in the western zone will be available from 8am, while tickets for the eastern zone will be sold from 2pm.

According to railway sources, 33,315 seats will be available in 43 intercity trains from Dhaka to other parts of the country.

They said advance train tickets for journeys on May 31 will be available on May 21. On the other hand, tickets for June 1-6 will be sold on May 22, May 23, May 24, May 25, May 26 and May 27, respectively.

Return tickets for June 9 will be on sale on May 30. Those for June 10 will be available on May 31. This way, tickets for June 11-15 will be sold on June 1, June 2, June 3, June 4 and June 5, respectively.

Depending on the sighting of the moon, Eid-ul-Adha is expected to be celebrated on June 7 or 8.
