Ekushey Book Fair to be held from December 17 to January 17

The Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2026 will be held from December 17, 2025, to January 17, 2026, instead of the traditional February schedule.

The change was made due to the upcoming parliamentary elections and the holy month of Ramadan.

The decision was taken at a meeting at the Shahid Munir Chowdhury auditorium of Bangla Academy on Thursday (September 18).

The Ministry of Cultural Affairs confirmed the matter in a press release following the meeting.

Cultural Affairs Secretary Md. Mofidur Rahman chaired the meeting, which was attended by Bangla Academy Director General Professor Mohammad Azam, academy officials, and representatives of the Bangladesh Book Publishers and Sellers Association.
