Ekushey Book Fair to begin on February 1; CA to inaugurate

The Ekushey Book Fair is set to start on February 1 with the main theme of July Mass Uprising, Building a New Bangladesh. The book fair will be officially inaugurated at 3 pm on that day by the interim government's chief adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus.

On Thursday (January 30), the academy's director general, Professor Mohammad Azam, made these remarks at a press conference organized at the Bangla Academy on the occasion of the Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2025.

He said that the book fair will be inaugurated by the interim government's chief adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus on Saturday, February 1 at 3 pm. Books and book fairs are helpful in building a knowledge-based, humane and inclusive democratic Bangladesh. We hope that this year's fair - the book fair of our lives - will illuminate all possibilities.

Dr. Sarkar Amin, Secretary of the Book Fair Management Committee, stated regarding the fair that it will be open every day from 3 PM to 9 PM, excluding holidays, from February 1st to February 28th. No one will be allowed to enter the fairgrounds after 8:30 PM. On holidays, the book fair will be open from 11 AM to 9 PM (except for February 8th and 15th). Additionally, on the 21st of February, the Shaheed Day and International Mother Language Day, the fair will open at 8 AM and will continue until 9 PM.
