Man killed in Narsingdi, younger brother among 2 held
A younger brother has been accused of killing his elder brother in Narsingdi. The incident took place in front of a petrol pump in Satirpara area of Sadar upazila on Saturday morning (May 2). Two people have been arrested in this incident.
The deceased Al Amin, 30, is a resident of Nilaksha Union of Raipura upazila. The accused Hasan, 26, is his younger brother. Both of them used to earn a living by driving battery-powered auto-rickshaws from a rented house in Chauwala area of the city.
According to relatives, their sister Taslima Begum had been in a dispute with Naeem, a resident of Chauwala, for a long time. Recently, Al Amin returned to the city after settling the matter locally. However, younger brother Hasan could not accept this settlement.
While going to the market, Hasan stabbed Al Amin in the stomach several times with a sharp weapon in front of Azad Filling Station in Satirpara on Saturday morning. When relatives took him to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital in serious injuries, the doctor declared him dead.
The deceased's wife, Shilpi Begum, said that Hasan had called her husband the night before the incident and threatened to kill him. The threat was carried out the next morning.
The hospital's resident medical officer, Dr. Farida Gulshanara Kabir, said that Al Amin died before he was brought to the hospital. It is believed that he died of excessive bleeding due to a sharp weapon injury to the stomach.
Narsingdi Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge ARM Al Mamun said that the younger brothers Hasan and Naim, accused in the incident, have been arrested. After filing a case, they will be sent to jail through the court. There are multiple cases against Naim in different police stations.
