Elderly man found hanging at home in Cox’s Bazar

Police have found the hanging body of an 80-year-old man from his house in Eidgaon upazila of Cox's Bazar.

The incident took place in the Jagirpara area of ​​Eidgaon union of the upazila early on Tuesday (April 28). The deceased has been identified as Nurul Haque.

According to local and police sources, his family members found him hanging from the ceiling of his house with a rope around his neck in the early hours of the morning. They immediately informed the police.

Upon receiving the information, the Eidgaon police station went to the spot, recovered the body and took it to the police station.

Officer-in-charge of Eidgaon police station ATM Shifatul Mazder said that after recovering the body, necessary legal procedures are being followed and arrangements are being made to hand over the body to the family.

He added that initially, it was learned that the old man Nurul Haque had been suffering from a physical illness for a long time. However, an investigation is underway to find out the real cause of the incident.
