Elderly man’s body recovered from footpath in Ramna

Police have recovered the body of an unidentified elderly man from a footpath in the Ramna area of the capital. His age is estimated to be around 65 years.

Ramna thana police recovered the body from the footpath opposite the gate of NSI Headquarters around 11:30am on Friday (September 18). Later the body was sent to the morgue of Dhaka Medical College for autopsy.

SI Tanvir Hasan of Ramna police station said they rushed to the spot after receiving information from passers-by in the morning and recovered the body of the person. Local people said he was of a vagrant nature.

SI Tanvir Hasan further said it is initially assumed that the person died due to illness. The forensic team of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has been informed to identify him.
