Adviser to the Ministry of Industries and Ministry of Housing and Public Works Adilur Rahman Khan has said that the elected political party that forms the next government will solve Bhola’s gas problem.

He said this on Saturday afternoon, November 15 in response to journalists’ questions after inspecting the under-construction fertiliser factory warehouse in Barishal and various factories in the BSCIC industrial area.

Present at the time were Barishal Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Deloar Hossain, Barishal BSCIC Deputy General Manager Md Nazrul Islam and leaders of the BSCIC Owners’ Association.

The adviser said that electricity, water and various other problems exist in Barishal BSCIC. After the fall of the fascist government, efforts are underway to revive the industrial area by tackling various challenges.

He said that steps are being taken to cancel plots of those who took plots in BSCIC during the previous government but did not set up factories. At the same time, plans have been taken to allocate plots to small entrepreneurs so that local businessmen get opportunities.

Adilur Rahman Khan also said infrastructural development is essential to keep the industrial zone operational. For this, electricity, water, gas and other basic facilities must be ensured. If Bhola’s gas can be utilised, the industries of the southern region will regain new life.
