Election results to be gazetted by February 14: Asif Nazrul

Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Asif Nazrul on Thursday (February 12) confirmed that the results of the 13th National Parliament elections will be officially gazetted by February 14, with the new government expected to assume office between February 17 and 18.

Speaking to reporters after casting his vote at the capital's Siddheshwari Girls College polling centre, the adviser said that the gazette notification will be followed by the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected Members of Parliament, marking the formal transfer of power.

He described the overall election process as “orderly and peaceful” so far and emphasised the importance of transparency and timely result publication to maintain public confidence in the electoral system.

“Once the results are gazetted, the new government will take over promptly, ensuring a smooth transition,” he added.
