Election symbols to be allotted on January 21

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin has announced the schedule for the 13th National Parliament elections in an address to the nation. With this, the election process has officially begun. According to the schedule, the list of final candidates will be published and election symbols will be allotted on January 21.

According to the announced schedule, the last date for submission of nomination papers is December 29. Selection of nomination papers will continue from December 30 to January 4. Appeals against the decision of the Returning Officer can be filed on January 11, and these appeals will be disposed of from January 12 to 18.

The last date for withdrawal of candidacy has been set for January 20. Election campaigning will officially start from January 22, which will continue till 7:30 am on February 10.

Voting will be held in 300 parliamentary constituencies of the country on February 12. The total number of voters in this election is more than 127.6 million. Bangladeshis living abroad will also be able to vote by postal ballot for the first time. So far, more than 300,000 expatriate voters have completed their registration.
