Election to be held in February: Mirza Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has confirmed that the next national election will be held in February, following what he described as a “fruitful” meeting with the Chief Adviser.

Speaking to reporters on Sunday (August 31) night after the meeting at Jamuna, Fakhrul said, 'The Chief Adviser has assured us that the election will be held in February. We also believe this.'

He added that the BNP had conveyed its concerns and expectations regarding the election-time government and the overall political environment to the Chief Adviser during the discussion.
