11 instructions to policemen in severe heat wave
An intense heat wave is blowing over different parts of the country bringing immense sufferings to the countrymen. The Meteorological Department has issued a 72-hour heat alert across the country.
In this situation, the police headquarters has issued 11 guidelines to avoid heat stroke and keep policemen healthy during the intense heat wave.
The instructions are: (a) Use of umbrella, cap and sun glasses should be ensured during outdoor duty. (b) Adequate quantity of pure water should be drunk slowly and cold water (with ice/refrigerated water) should be avoided. (c) Eat healthy food and avoid eating stale, open food. (d) Ensure that clean water and healthy food are served in police messes and canteens. (e) Bath after half an hour of returning home when body temperature becomes normal. (f) Juice or such drinks should be avoided. (g) Plain syrup, green coconut or salted water may be consumed if it is not prohibited for any other reason. (h) Take medical measures as per the doctor's advice immediately if feeling sick. (j) Senior officers have to supervise the health of the policemen during the heat wave. (k) To stay healthy during the intense heat wave and to prevent heat stroke, police personnel have to be informed about what to do through regular roll call and internal management.
