At least eleven vehicles, including the SUV of the municipality mayor, were burnt in a fire in Natore's Singra upazila early Tuesday. No report of injuries in the fire that erupted in the municipality's garage adjacent to the municipality building around 4am was found. Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Singra police station, said being informed, firefighters went to the spot and brought the blaze under control. They said that municipality mayor Jannatul Ferdous' personal vehicle, two community ambulances and 8 easy bikes were burnt. “We are investigating the matter,” said the OC. Suman Ali, station master of Singra Fire Service, said the fire might have originated from an electric short circuit.

নাটোরের সিংড়া উপজেলায় অগ্নিকাণ্ডে পৌরসভা মেয়রের গাড়ি, অ্যাম্বুলেন্সসহ ১১টি যানবাহন পুড়ে গেছে। মঙ্গলবার (৫ ডিসেম্বর) ভোর ৪টার দিকে পৌরসভার গ্যারেজে এ অগ্নিকাণ্ডের ঘটনা ঘটে। তবে এতে হতাহতের কোনো খবর পাওয়া যায়নি। এ বিষয়ে সিংড়া থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) মিজানুর রহমান জানান, খবর পেয়ে ফায়ার সার্ভিসের কর্মীরা ঘটনাস্থলে গিয়ে আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে আনে। তারা জানান, পৌরসভার মেয়র জান্নাতুল ফেরদৌসের ব্যক্তিগত গাড়ি, দুটি কমিউনিটি অ্যাম্বুলেন্স ও আটটি ইজিবাইক পুড়ে গেছে। ওসি বলেন, আমরা এ বিষয়টি তদন্ত করছি। সিংড়া ফায়ার সার্ভিসের স্টেশন মাস্টার সুমন আলী জানান, শর্টসার্কিট থেকে আগুনের সূত্রপাত হতে পারে। এ ব্যাপারে মেয়রের মন্তব্যের জন্য তার&nbsp;ফোনে যোগাযোগ করে পাওয়া যায়নি।
