14 individuals, including ex-ministers, to appear at ICT for first time on Monday
14 individuals, including 10 former ministers from the Awami League government, two advisers, a retired judge, and a former secretary, will be presented at the International Crimes Tribunal on Monday (November 18). They will be shown as arrested and charged with crimes against humanity in connection with their involvement in the July-August genocide case.
All of them are currently in prison for other cases.
Mohammad Tajul Islam, the chief prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal, confirmed the matter on Sunday (November 17).
The arrested individuals include - former ministers Faruq Khan, Rashed Khan Menon, Hasanul Haq Inu, Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Abdur Razzaque, Shahjahan Khan, Kamal Ahmed Majumder, and Golam Dastagir Gazi.
Also named are former advisors to prime minister Sheikh Hasina, Tawfiq-e-Elahi and Salman F Rahman, former army chief Ziaul Ahsan, former justice Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik, and former home secretary Jahangir Alam.
Earlier, on October 27, a three-member judicial panel led by International Crimes Tribunal Chairman Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mazumdar issued the order.
