147 people lost lives during quota reform movement: Home minister
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said that a total of 147 people had lost their lives during the clashes over quota reform movement.
He said: "As per official records, the government has listed 147 people as dead during the movement."
"Some people are spreading rumours that the death toll is over 500. But, hospital records show that the toll is 147. But, work is underway to correct ascertainment of mortality data," he added.
He further said that students, general people, Chhatra League members and law enforcers are among the deceased.
"Details in this regard will come in a short time," he added.
