2 commercial buildings in Gulshan declared 'fire hazard'
A mobile court of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has declared two commercial buildings in Gulshan-2 'risky', due to a lack of fire safety measures.
Among the two vulnerable buildings, one is six-storied and another is seven-storied building.
DNCC Zone-3 Executive Magistrate Zulkar Nayan led the mobile court. He was accompanied by the corporation's Executive Magistrate Mahmudul Hasan and officials from the Fire Service and Civil Defense.
Zulkar Nayan told media, "There are many restaurants in this commercial building of holding number 33. But none of them have fire extinguishing system. Apart from this, there is a residential hotel on the second and third floors of this building named 'The H Hotel'. However, there is less chance of getting out in case of fire. Although there are two stairs on both sides, these are narrow. In such a situation, how this hotel got approval, all the documents have been asked to be given by this afternoon. Further action will be decided after looking at the documents."
