2 killed as bus runs over van in Chuadanga

Two people, including a van driver, were killed after being run over by a bus at Noimail Market on the Chuadanga-Jhenaidah Highway. The incident occurred at 5.00am on Friday (April 18).

The deceased were identified as Abdur Razzak (65), a bird cart driver from Kutubpur village in Sadar Upazila, and Sorowar Hossain (70), a rice trader from Khandarpara in Mahmmadjama village.

According to locals, Razzak and Sorowar were on their way to Sarojganj Bazar in a bird cart from Sinduria Road. As they reached the Noimail area, a bus heading from Chuadanga ran over their cart, killing both men on the spot.

Khaledur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chuadanga Sadar Police Station, confirmed the matter. He said, "Upon receiving the news, members from the Sinduria police camp and Chuadanga Fire Service reached the scene and recovered the bodies, which were then sent to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital."
