206 BGP members take refuge in Bangladesh again
Some 206 members of Myanmar’s border force Border Guard Police (BGP) entered Bangladesh through the Ashartali-Jamchari border on Monday (March 11).
The BGB personnel at Jamchari BGB camp at Sadar Union of Naikhyongchari upazila in Bandarban disarmed them and took them under custody.
Naikhyongchari Sadar Union Chairman Nurul Abshar said, "In the morning, 29 BGP members took refuge in Bangladesh due to the ongoing conflict across the border between Myanmar state army and rebel forces. Later in the evening, another 177 BGP members took refuge in Bangladesh."
They entered Bangladesh through Nurul Alam company's lemon garden in Ashartali area. They have been disarmed and kept under BGB custody.
