21 sentenced to life term over Chhatra League activist murder

A court in Khulna on Tuesday sentenced 21 accused to life imprisonment and acquitted 5 others in the murder case of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activist Hasibur Rahman Niaz in Khalishpur, Khulna.

The court announced this verdict on Tuesday (October 22) afternoon. Judge Abdus Salam of Khulna Women and Child Torture Prevention Tribunal-3 gave the verdict.

The Court's Government Consul Romana Tanha confirmed the verdict.

On August 19, 2020, Hasibur Rahman, a first-year BA student of Haji Mohammad Mohsin College was killed by miscreants. After the investigation, the investigating officer of the case filed a police charge sheet mentioning the names of 26 accused.
