Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have seized a 2.5 kg consignment of cocaine from the Khulna-bound Kapotaksha Express train. Lt Col Mohammad Mahbub Morshed of Kushtia Battalion (BGB 47) confirmed. He said that acting on a tip-off, a special patrol team from the Kushtia Battalion (BGB 47) positioned themselves at Mirpur Railway Station in Kushtia. When the train stopped at Mirpur Railway Station, BGB patrol team conducted a search operation and recovered 2.5 kg of cocaine. A general diary entry regarding the seizure is currently being processed at Mirpur Police Station.

কুষ্টিয়ায় খুলনাগামী কপোতাক্ষ এক্সপ্রেস ট্রেনে তল্লাশি চালিয়ে আড়াই কেজি কোকেন জব্দ করেছে বর্ডার গার্ড বাংলাদেশ (বিজিবি)। বুধবার (২৯ মে) ওই কোকেনের চালান জব্দ করে বিজিবি সদস্যরা। বিজিবি সূত্রে জানা গেছে, বুধবার বিকালে বিজিবি'র কুষ্টিয়া ব্যাটালিয়ন (৪৭ বিজিবি) নিজস্ব তথ্যের ভিত্তিতে জানতে পারে, রাজশাহী থেকে ছেড়ে আসা কপোতাক্ষ এক্সপ্রেস ট্রেনে কোকেনের একটি চালান খুলনার দিকে যাচ্ছে। ওই তথ্যের ভিত্তিতে কুষ্টিয়া ব্যাটালিয়নের অধিনায়ক লেফটেন্যান্ট কর্নেল মো. মাহবুব মোর্শেদ রহমানের নির্দেশনায় সহকারী পরিচালক মো. জাকিরুল ইসলামের নেতৃত্বে ব্যাটালিয়ন সদরের একটি বিশেষ টহল দল কুষ্টিয়ার মিরপুর রেল স্টেশনে অবস্থান নেয়। ট্রেনটি জেলার মিরপুর রেল স্টেশনে থামলে বিজিবি টহল দল তল্লাশি চালিয়ে মালিকবিহীন আড়াই কেজি কোকেন জব্দ করে। এ বিষয়ে মিরপুর থানায় সাধারণ ডায়েরি করা হচ্ছে বলে বিজিবি সূত্রে জানা গেছে।

Israeli forces have taken control of a buffer zone along the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt, the country's military said on Wednesday, giving Israel effective authority over the Palestinian territory's entire land border.  Israel also continued deadly raids on Rafah in southern Gaza despite an order from the International Court of Justice to end attacks on the city, where half of Gaza's 2.3 million people had previously taken refuge.  In a televised briefing, chief military spokesperson Daniel Hagari said Israeli forces had gained "operational" control over the "Philadelphi Corridor", using the Israeli military's code name for the 14 km-long (9 mile) corridor along the Gaza Strip's only border with Egypt.  "The Philadelphi Corridor served as an oxygen line for Hamas, which it regularly used to smuggle weapons into the area of the Gaza Strip," Hagari said. Hamas is the armed Palestinian group that governs the blockaded territory.
