2,700 Ansar recruited in railway to prevent sabotage
Railway authorities appointed 2,700 Ansar members from the Ministry of Home Affairs to start patrolling on the lines to prevent vandalism and increase security.
Shafiqur Rahman, divisional manager (Dhaka) at Bangladesh Railway, informed the matter at a press conference at Kamalapur railway station in the capital on Friday (December 22).
He said, “Bangladesh Railway has suspended the operation of four non-important trains running at night and shortened the journey of the inter-city Jamuna Express to avoid sabotage. At the same time, 2,700 Ansar members have been appointed for the security of railways, before each train starts from Dhaka.”
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Railway has suspended the operation of six intercity trains to avoid sabotage during the ongoing blockade called by BNP and its allies.
