3 die of heatstroke in a day: Health Directorate

Three more people have died of heatstroke as a result of the intense heatwave across the country. With this, 10 people have died of heatstroke so far this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

DGHS sources on Monday (April 29) night said two of the three people died in Madaripur. Another person died in Chattogram. However, in the last one day, no new person with heatstroke was admitted to the hospital.

In total, 10 people have died of heat stroke across the country in the last one week and five more people are under treatment in hospital due to heat stroke, the DGHS said.

Meanwhile, the temperature in four districts of the country has crossed 42 degrees Celsius on Monday, which means that a very intense heat wave is blowing. On that day, the highest temperature in the country was 43 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga. Earlier, the maximum temperature was 42.7 degree in Chuadanga.

Due to the intense heat, the public life of the whole country is being disrupted and the working people are suffering immensely.
