3 High Court division judges resign

Three judges of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court have resigned today.

The judges are Justice Salma Masud Chowdhury, Justice Kazi Reza-ul Haque, and Justice AKM Zahirul Haque. They have submitted their resignations to the President.

The Law Ministry issued a notification regarding the matter today (November 19).

"Justices Salma Masud Chowdhury, Kazi Reza-ul Haque, and AKM Zahirul Haque of the High Court Division resigned from their posts today, submitting a signed letter to the President under Article 96(4) of the Constitution," the notification read.

"The President has accepted the resignations of these three," it added.

Earlier, all three judges were barred from performing judicial duties for five years due to allegations of misconduct.
