3 killed in Pickup-Motorcycle collision in Bandarban

At least three people were killed in a head-on collision between a pickup-truck and a motorcycle in Alikadam Upazila, Bandarban.

The incident took place around 2.00pm on Saturday (January 18) in the Tarabunia area of Lama-Alikadam road, Chaiksyang Union, in the upazila.

The deceased were identified as Md. Belal (30) and Md. Syed Amin (45), both residents of Chairman Para, and Minhaj (18), a resident of Bazar Para in the upazila.

According to the law enforcement and eyewitnesses, a speeding pickup-truck collided head-on with a motorcycle in the Tarabunia area of Lama-Alikadam road, resulting in the spot death of three motorcycle riders.

On information, the police arrived at the scene, retrieved the bodies, and transported them to the hospital.

Confirming the matter, Mirza Zahir Uddin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Alikadam Police Station, said, "The injured have been taken to the hospital after being rescued from the scene. The truck involved, with registration number Cox's Bazar L-112388, has been seized, but the driver has escaped."
