3 killed in truck-van collision in Bagerhat

Three people have been killed in a collision between a truck and a battery-driven rickshaw van in Bagerhat’s Rampal upazila.

The accident took place on the Khulna-Mongla highway at chairman’s intersection in the upazila around 8:00am on Saturday (April 27).

The deceased have been identified as Md Saeed Moral (45), Mohammad Azad (35) and van driver Md Mani (45). All of them hailed from different villages of the upazila.

Somen Das, officer-in-charge of Rampal police station, said the Mongla-bound truck coming from Khulna crushed the van coming from the opposite direction towards the Bhaga area.

Of the three people on the van, one died on the spot and two others died while being rushed to Rampal Upazila Health Complex.
