The third phase of the upazila parishad elections, scheduled for May 29, has seen the postponement of elections in three additional upazilas. The affected upazilas are Khaliajuri in Netrokona district, and Kachua and Faridganj in Chandpur district. The elections in Khaliajuri upazila have been postponed due to road disconnections, and in Kachua and Faridganj upazilas due to disruptions in the electricity connections for the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). Earlier on Monday (May 27), elections in 19 upazilas were postponed. As a result, voting will now be held in 87 upazilas on Wednesday (May 29).

আগামী ২৯ মে অনুষ্ঠিত উপজেলা পরিষদের তৃতীয় ধাপের নির্বাচনে আরো নতুন তিনটি উপজেলা নির্বাচন স্থগিত ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে। উপজেলাগুলো হচ্ছে নেত্রকোনা জেলার খালিয়াজুরী এবং চাঁদপুর জেলার কচুয়া ও ফরিদগঞ্জ উপজেলা। খালিয়াজুরী উপজেলায় সড়ক সংযোগ বিচ্ছিন্ন ঘটা এবং কচুয়া ও ফরিদগঞ্জ উপজেলায় ইভিএম এর বিদ্যুৎ সংযোগ বিচ্ছিন্ন থাকায় নির্বাচন স্থগিত ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে। এর আগে সোমবার (২৭ মে) ১৯টি উপজেলা নির্বাচন স্থগিত করা হয়। ফলে আগামীকাল বুধবার (২৯ মে) ৮৭টি উপজেলায় ভোটগ্রহণ অনুষ্ঠিত হবে।
