3 motorcyclists killed in Gopalganj road accident

Three motorcyclists died after being hit by a car at Kashiani Upazila of Gopalganj. The accident occurred at 6:00 am on Friday (January 17) in front of Sampan Highway Restaurant in the Hiranya Kandi area along the Dhaka-Khulna highway.

The victims were Dipu Das (18), son of Bishnu Das from the Pona area, Vishal Nag (19), son of Babul Nag from the same area, and Hriday Mridha (18), son of Minarul Mridha. Dipu Das was a 9th-grade student, while Vishal Nag was in the 8th grade.

Md Rokibuzzaman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhanga Highway Police, confirmed the matter.

He said, "I spoke with the victims' families and learned that they were riding a motorcycle to drink date palm juice. There was fog in the early morning, and as they reached the front of Sampan Restaurant, a car struck them. Locals saw the three victims and their motorcycle lying by the roadside and notified us. The police later arrived at the scene and recovered the bodies along with the damaged motorcycle."
