3 remanded in kidnapping with intent to kill MP Anar case
A Dhaka court has put three arrested accused on an 8-day remand in a case filed over the abduction of Jhenaidah-4 constituency lawmaker Anwarul Azim Anar.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Dilruba Afroz Tithi passed the order on Friday (May 24), said court sources.
The accused are Amanullah alias Shimul Bhuiyan, Shilasti Rahman and Faisal Ali alias Saji.
Earlier, Assistant Commissioner of Detective Branch (DB) of police Mahfuzur Rahman produced the accused before the court seeking a 10-day remand, said Sub-Inspector (SI) Salim Reza of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police station in the capital.
There was no lawyer for the accused during the hearing.
Earlier on Wednesday (May 21) evening, Mumtarin Ferdous Dorin, daughter of MP Anar, filed a case with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police station. Later DB arrested the three accused.
