3 students hurt in hit-and-run crash near Dhaka airport

A private car has run over a group of students in front of the third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, resulting in injuries to three individuals.

The incident occurred around 12:30pm on Sunday, as a video of the accident went viral on social media.

The footage shows a group of students walking along the road when a white private car suddenly approached from behind and struck them, causing several students to fall and sustain injuries. Bystanders quickly rushed to assist the injured.

Inspector (Investigation) Mustafizur Rahman of the airport police station said: “I heard that the accident happened around 12:30pm. Three students have been injured, two of them have broken legs and one has a minor head injury. The police have arrived at the scene, and the private car has been seized. The driver fled after the incident.”

Authorities are currently proceeding with legal actions related to the accident, he added.
