4 burnt in explosion at Munshiganj

Four members of the same family including a child were burnt in an explosion in Munshiganj Saturday morning (December 9). Munshiganj Fire Service and Civil Defense officials said that the injured are Rizvi Ahmed Russell, 42, Rozina Begum, 35, Rayan Ahmed, 2, and Sahida Khatun, 65, media reports. The incident took place in a flat at Idrakpur area around 6:30am.

Locals said that around 6:30 in the morning, a loud noise was heard on the fifth floor of the building. At that time, a fire started burning in a flat. Two units of the fire service arrived and extinguished the fire in 10 minutes. But the 4 residents and the furniture of the flat were burnt.

The injured are taking treatment at a hospital in Dhaka. The cause of the fire is yet to be known, said officials.
