4 hours power outage in Pirojpur, Jhalakathi on Wednesday
Power supply will be cut off for four hours in various areas of Pirojpur and Jhalakathi on Wednesday (May 14) due to grid substation expansion work.
Power supply will be normalized after the scheduled time after the work is completed, said a press release issued by the Power Grid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB).
The release said that the bay expansion work of the Bhandaria 132/33 kV grid substation will continue under a project being implemented to increase the efficiency of grid-based power supply. As a result, the Barisal-Bhandaria and Bhandaria-Bagerhat 132 kV transmission lines of the substation will be completely closed.
As a result, there will be disruption in power supply in Bhandaria, Mathbaria, Nesarabad (Swarupkathi) and Kaukhali upazilas of Pirojpur district, Rajapur and Kantalia upazilas of Jhalakati district, and Bamna and Patharghata upazilas of Barguna district under the jurisdiction of Pirojpur and Jhalakati Rural Electricity Association from 6am to 10am on Wednesday.
The Power Grid Authority has sincerely apologized for this temporary inconvenience to the customers.
