4 killed in Bogura road mishap

At least four people were killed and seven others injured after a bus collided head-on with a covered van in Bogura.

The accident took place at Banani area of Dhaka-Bogura highway around 4:30 am on Tuesday (June 9).

The deceased have been identified as Shamim Hasan (45) from Sutrapur area of Bogura Sadar, Abdul Hannan (38) from Ridhail village at Nandigram upazila of Bogura, Hriday (22) fro9m Mirpur in Dhaka and Jasmine (35) from Domar upazila in Nilphamari.

Bogura Chilimpur (Medical) police outpost ATSI Md Lalon Hossain said the bodies of the deceased have been kept at the morgue of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital in Bogura city. The injured are under treatment in the same hospital.

He said a bus named Shah Fateh Ali was going to Naogaon from Dhaka. On the way, the bus collided head-on with a covered van in Banani area, causing the casualties.

Bogura Kunderhat Highway Police OC Abbas Ali said that passengers of both the vehicles were killed and injured. The bus and the covered van are in their custody.
