4 of a family burned in cylinder explosion in Dhamrai

Four members of a family suffered severe burns in an gas cylinder explosion in their home at Dhamrai of Dhaka.

They are--Nurul Islam, 55, Sufia Begum, 50, their daughter 21, and son Al Hadi Sohag, 18.

Sufia suffered an 80% burn, Nurul suffered a 48% burn, Sohag 38% and Sathi 16%, said doctors at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

Of them, condition of three are stated to be critical.

Sohail Rana, station officer of Dhamrai Fire Service Station said the explosion took place at 3:00am on Wednesday in Mokamtola area due to leak in the gas supply line.
