4 people die in truck-autorickshaw collision in Bogura
Four people, including three of a family, died and two others were injured in a head-on collision between a rice-laden truck and a CNG-run autorickshaw in Sherpu upazilar of Bogura.
The accident took place in the Dharmokam area of Sherpur on the Dhaka-Bogra highway on Thursday evening.
The deceased are Ariful Islam (30), son of Badiuzzaman of Basail village in Sirajganj, his wife Mousumi Akter (26), their son Saiful Islam (5), and auto driver Nasim Hossain (32), son of Parbat Sheikh of Salon village in Sirajganj's Tarash upazila.
The injured are Kawsar Ali (22) of Raiganj upazila in Sirajganj, and Golam (50), son of Afsar Ali of Chonka village in Bogra's Sherpur upazila. They were admitted to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogra.
Sherpur police station OC Md. Rezaul Karim confirmed the incident.
He said the two vehicles involved in the accident are in the custody of the highway police. The bodies will be handed over to the families after the post-mortem.
