407 killed in road accident during Eid journey: Jatri Kalyan Samity
Some 407 people were killed in 399 road accidents across the country before and after Eid-ul-Fitr. In addition, 1,398 people wre injured in those accidents, said Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samity at a press conference at Sagar-Runi Auditorium at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) at Segunbagicha in the capital on Saturday (April 20) morning.
At the press conference, Secretary General of the organization Mozammel Haque Chowdhury said, “Some 24 people died and 21 were injured in 18 railway accidents during the Eid journey. Seven people died and five were injured in two accidents on the waterways.”
Some 438 people were killed and 1,424 injured in a total of 419 accidents on road, rail and waterways.
