45 arrested in Mohammadpur

Police on Saturday night arrested 45 individuals in the Mohammadpur area of the capital on suspicion of robbery and theft.

Hafizur Rahman, the investigation officer at Mohammadpur Police Station, confirmed the matter to the media.

He said, "The police and army personnel conducted a joint operation in areas like Beribandh, Rayer Bazar, and Mohammadia Housing Society, leading to the arrests."

Several videos of thefts and robberies in Mohammadpur have been circulating on social media. In response, local residents held a protest in front of the Mohammadpur Police Station, demanding a crime-free area. They gave the police three days to take effective action, warning that they would surround the police station if no action is taken.
