52 KNF members put on 2-day remand
A Bandarban court has put each 52 arrested Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) personnel on two-day remand in a case filed over the incident of bank robbery and arms loot at Ruma upazila.
The court, meanwhile, allowed the law enforcers to interrogate one KNF member at the jail gate.
Senior Judicial Magistrate of Bandarban Chief Judicial Magistrate Court Mohammad Nazmul Hossain passed the order on Thursday after the IO of the case sought 5-day remand for each accused.
In this incident, nine cases were filed under various sections of the Special Powers Act, 1974 and the Anti-Terrorism Act, 2009 in Ruma and Thanchi police stations of the district.
In the operation, the joint forces have so far detained 73 people including 20 women and sent 66 people to jail.
